We are pleased to announce the successful installation of a new island exhaust hood in a Calgary home, a project that had been stalled for over a year due to its complexities. Despite numerous obstacles, including challenges with electrical wiring, ceiling duct routing, hood shroud modification, and anchorage, the installation was completed with precision and creativity.
One of the primary difficulties was discovering the existing electrical wiring in the home. In older or previously renovated homes, electrical panels are often not properly labeled, making it a challenge to identify which circuits control specific areas. This requires careful investigation, sometimes involving the use of specialized equipment to trace wires and ensure safety during modifications. Our team meticulously navigated this complexity, ensuring all connections were safely and correctly established.
Additionally, running the ceiling duct for the exhaust hood posed significant challenges. Integrating a new duct system into an existing structure demands a thorough understanding of the building's layout and sometimes involves working in tight or inaccessible spaces. We had to modify the hood shroud to fit seamlessly with the existing ceiling, maintaining both functionality and aesthetics.
The client had struggled to find a contractor willing to take on these challenges, but our team's expertise and innovative approach allowed us to bypass all obstacles. The new exhaust hood is now fully operational, providing efficient ventilation and eliminating the need for the homeowner to open windows during Calgary's harsh winters.
