We are guided by the philosophy of Sankofa, which inspires us to draw from the wisdom of our ancestors' achievements. We strive to understand their thought processes and belief systems, which shaped traditional architectural and engineering principles across the continent and beyond. By firmly grasping our past, we strengthen our present identity, fostering the balance and harmony necessary for a focused and meaningful future starting today.

 

This philosophy aligns with the principles of Ma’at, which emphasize truth, justice, harmony, balance, order, propriety, and reciprocity. Our goal is to embody these ideals within ourselves, our environment, and our past and present. Architecturally, this translates into creating designs that harmoniously balance the past and present while respecting the natural world that sustains us.

 

Lastly, we believe that Africans, no matter where they are globally, have more in common than differences. As such, our designs are collaborative and influenced by multiple continental cultural elements, evoking nostalgia for former golden ages and embodying the philosophy of Ubuntu.
